Tarot Tuesday ~ El Ermitaño (The Hermit)

Ooh, I love the timing of this! The Hermit is a Major Arcana card (#9) that signifies spiritual awareness & awakenings. And as many of you may remember, last year was known in tarot numerology as a Hermit year (2+0+2+5=9, 9=IX=The Hermit).

It was certainly a tough year for many, yet it brought lessons of hope & resilience as we witnessed so many people begin to explore their spiritual path (Hermit energy), finding light in the midst of dark. The journey took us inward for a great deal of healing, introspection, & other spiritual challenges.

Now in 2026, we are being called to come down from the mountain, so to speak, and begin to apply the spiritual wisdom we gained from last year. There is a determined spirit behind the energy of this Hermit; though usually passive & receptive, this one is ready & willing to get things done.

So the big question is: Where are YOU being called to shine your light in the world? What is YOUR spiritual “mission?” You might have once been afraid to even say it out loud, but remember you are older & wiser now and, quite frankly, a lot of life has happened! The Hermit wants you to be confident in knowing that you are ready.

The recent Leo Full Moon may have amplified your energy & direction, so go with it! In exactly two weeks (Feb. 17th) a new era begins with the Lunar New Year igniting the Year of the Fire Horse, setting off a more active & outward energy. The call for truth & authenticity couldn’t be louder.. now is the time to prepare yourself.
