animal reiki

Reiki is a gentle energy that can help ease your pet’s discomfort.

we could all benefit from reduced stress… and our pets are no different!

Animals are very sensitive to energy around them. Reiki is a gentle way to bring relaxation to our beloved pets, in order to help them heal from illness or injury, and feel more at ease in their environment.

Reiki energy does not rely on physical touch, nor does it require being in the same physical space together. It is a universal energy of interconnectedness.

Animal Reiki Sessions are typically done remotely, known as Distance Reiki. Distance Reiki is shared through phone, Zoom, or even using a photograph of your pet, without technology.

I currently offer in-person sessions in the local Salem/ Polk County areas of Oregon. In-person sessions start at $85 for a one-hour visit. Like people, animals often benefit the most from regular, recurring treatments.. especially during the initial start of their recovery. (Session packages will soon be available to help your pet receive the optimum benefit.)

Reiki sessions for animals are typically shorter than human sessions, though there is a longer “introduction period” to get to know each other and allow the animal to become accustomed to my presence. Reiki is offered but never forced on an animal—though most pets gladly welcome it, especially once they realize how relaxed it makes them feel!

Usually the animal will decide when the session is over. If there is time left in the visit, I will often offer Reiki to the pet parent for the remainder of the time; I also like to offer Reiki into the animal’s surroundings (such as the pet’s bed, favorite room or area, even their food or medicine.)

Reiki is non-invasive and can be done hands-on or hands-off, depending on the animal’s preference or demeanor. Reiki is a complementary therapy and does no harm; it is not a substitute for veterinary care and it can enhance treatment that your pet is already receiving. It is also important to note that the Reiki practitioner is not “healing” or channeling their energy to your pet, but rather helping to facilitate the animal’s own life force energy to flow more freely as they settle into a more relaxed state.
