The King of Cups is an appropriate representation of the energy surrounding June 2026, for an number of practical and astrological reasons. June is a time of facing our feelings with a newfound sense of acceptance and gentle care, rather than judgment. There is a turning point in the realm of emotional growth, and it’s no wonder, since the suit of Cups represent water, and the element of water rules our emotions, feelings, and relationships.
Where there was rocky ground, especially in terms of relationships, a smoother approach develops. Things feel like they flow better; rather than hitting against a hard rock, we are now better equipped to flow around it. It’s like we’ve learned to pick our battles, recognizing what we are willing & able able to carry with us as we move with the currents.. and recognizing what is fixed & immovable, staying in its own place.
On June 9th there was a conjunction between Venus and Jupiter in the sign of Cancer, highlighting an expansive energy within relationships— both romantic, familial, and platonic. Venus emphasizes beauty and compatibility, while Jupiter want us to have bigger & better everything. Cancer relates to safety, intuition, feminine energy, home life, etc. Domestic matters are certainly in forefront this month.
During the first part of June the Sun is in the sign of Gemini, and Mercury (also in the sign of Cancer) allows expression and communication to be more effective and better received. The Sun transitioned into the sign of Cancer around the time of Summer Solstice, signaling the start of two new seasons.
In many ways, it is indeed the start of a new season of internal and external shifts. Where have you emotionally matured? How are you handling friendship, relationships, and family matters differently? Something has healed.. you have healed; and though some wounds remain, there’s a steadfastness in your ability to manage your emotional health in a productive and healthy way. Any healing on the current horizon is met with greater knowledge and experience, having learned from the past and meeting less resistance this time around.
Chiron, the dwarf planet named after the mythological “Wounded Healer” made a significant move into the sign of Taurus on June 19th, introducing us to this more stable and sustainable approach to tending to our emotional wellbeing. Healthier habits, solid support systems, and a genuine sense of grounding are on the agenda as our healing journeys begin to level up, so to speak.
Likewise, the King of Cups sits on solid ground, despite any turbulent waters around him. He keeps two feet on the ground, not getting swept away in emotions of the past or worries of the future. King of Cups offers a reminder during the month of June of how far we’ve come during this halfway point of the year; we’ve grown stronger, wiser, and built healthy boundaries to keep ourselves afloat while tending to our emotional needs. Keep up the great work!
At the end of the month, this may be put to the test as Mercury stations retrograde on June 29th, the same day as the Capricorn Full Moon. Communications and thought processes may feel challenged for a while and we’ll be asked to close some important loops such as unfinished projects and other areas in our life that have been neglected (you know what they are!).
